Master of Christian Humanities
Duration: 4 semesters (2 years) – reading, zoom meeting, seminar paper
Target groups
The course is aimed at Christian decision-makers in political bodies and cultural institutions. The goal is to develop their competence in Christian witness and dialogue with other religions and cultures in order to develop regional and national communities in peace and cooperation. The specifically Christian point of view respects the humanity of the human being as such in terms of natural law and faces the discussion for the sake of a common further development beyond cultural and religious borders.
Objectives
The special feature of the master’s program according to U.S. law is that interreligious and religion-connecting as well as general humanistic elements are also addressed. In this way, socio-cultural effects are better brought into the course topics and linked with specifically biblical-Christian elements.
The aim of the Master’s program is to introduce contents of the Master’s course in selected parts into the student’s environment by training Christian decision-makers and thus to promote the implementation of Christian thinking in concrete development and peace projects. It is a train-the-trainer program to train multipliers and empower them for dialogue of religions for peace and development.
